Nazi party rally grounds in Nuremberg

The Nazi party rally grounds covered about 11 square kilometres in the southeast of Nuremberg, Germany. Siz Nazi party rallies were held there between 1933 and 1938.

The Congress Hall is the biggest preserved national socialist monumental building and is landmarked. The outer facade is inspired by the Colosseum in Rome.

The great road is almost 2km long and 40m wide. It was intended to be the central axis of the site and a parade road for the Wehrmacht.

The Zeppelinfeld is located east of the Great Road. It consists of a large grandstand with a width of 360 metres and a smaller stand. The grandstand is famous as the building that had the swastika blown from atop in 1945, after Germany’s fall in World War II.
